If there is a way to regrow hair, what is it? --Particularly the hair at the temple which has thinned from wearing tight ponytails.

A boy in my class has alopecia and he hasnt had no hair for about a year now, he has to have some steroids to try and get the hair to grow back, also he is getting some injections in his head (not sure what they are) to try and make the hair grow back, he was really upset for the school photos on tuesday as he had to wear a hat.
